This is no longer a future dream. XR technologies have long-since grown out of the prototype stage and are being increasingly deployed in a whole range of applications - whether orientating or identifying real-world objects via Google Lens, using an augmented reality automobile configurator or enjoying gaming experiences involving full immersion virtual reality.
Today's exotic is tomorrow's new normal.

THE TIME IS NOW
Mixed realities are products of our merging with the real world. Past technical barriers are becoming increasingly obsolete, and the benefits are beginning to prevail.

Examples of XR applications
XR, or 'mixed reality', refers to the entire bandwidth of augmented realities. The transitions are smooth - from augmented reality to full immersion. The two terms of supreme importance are currently augmented reality and virtual reality.
Augmented reality
AR is where virtual items are superimposed onto the real world, to augment it, mostly by way of a smartphone camera. It can be used anywhere, without the need for special hardware or restrictions - on the street, in the office or the tube train.
Virtual reality
VR refers to complete immersion in a virtual environment. VR headsets shut the outside world out for the wearer, so their use is mainly limited to entertainment applications, fairs, exhibitions, and private contexts.
